The Department of Geography and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) are collaboratively committed to active and developing research programmes in a wide range of subjects within the geographical, earth and environmental fields. We offer our students the highest level of teaching and learning resources, in addition to an academic support team with immense depth of knowledge and unparalleled experience in their specific fields. Learning in this kind of environment is both stimulating and productive, developing a range of abilities and skills that are highly valued by employers.

Recent focuses for research areas include geography, health and well-being, environmental processes and change, geographies of labour, environmental modelling and monitoring, marine biogeochemistry and ecosystems, in addition to palaeontology and sedimentology.
