The Department of Psychology houses internationally renowned experts undertaking high-quality research in specialist areas within the subject, with laboratories and facilities that enable practical and theoretical research to be undertaken. It is a centre of excellence for Legal Psychology in Europe, and is home to research clusters in forensic psychology, situated action and communication, comparative and evolutionary psychology, and quality of life, health and wellbeing.

Graduate School

The University of Portsmouth Graduate School is a dedicated centre for all postgraduate research students and supervisors.
