Biography

I originally studied History at University of Durham before going on to study Law at the University of Sussex and the Inns of Court School of Law. I was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 1997. I hold an MA in Humanities from the Open University and a PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning from Lancaster University.

I practised as a barrister in independent practice from 1997 to 2003. In 2003 I took up a post as Assistant Land Registrar at HM Land Registry. While working as an Assistant Land Registrar, I developed an interest in legal training and legal education, writing and delivering numerous internal and external training events. Having previously taught as an Associate Lecturer at the Open University, I decided to take up teaching full time. I joined the Law School in the Faculty of Business and Law in 2007 where I have been Associate Head and Director of PG Law Courses.

Since February 2019 I have been Associate Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Business and Law.
