Dr Helena Herrera
Biography
Helena graduated with a Combined Science degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Seville (Spain), in 1997. She then completed a PgCert Education before registering as a pharmacist in 1998. She then worked as a pharmacy manager while undertaking a number of post-graduate courses, including an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and PgC in Pharmacy Management.
In 2006, she joined the University of Portsmouth to be Course Leader for the Foundation Degree in Medicines Management, and subsequently, the MSc in Pharmacy Practice. She then gained additional qualifications, including a PhD and PgC in Research Methods.
Currently, Helena is Director of Postgraduate Research and teaches across a number of healthcare courses topics related to research methods, clinical practice and professional ethics. She continues to working in practice as a community pharmacist.
Research interests
Key interests relate to public health, in particular to health proteccion and environmental determinants of health and how these affect key populations
