Dr Erdem Selver
Summary
I'm now working on a KTP project with Jiva Materials and the University of Portsmouth. The project's goal is to develop sustainable composites for PCB applications.
My principal research interests include the mechanics of damage and failure in natural or synthetic fiber-reinforced composites, as well as the repair/healing of damaged areas.
I have extensive experience with natural (flax, jute, banana), synthetic (Kevlar, carbon, and glass), and waste fibre-reinforced composites.
I work with both thermoplastic and thermoset materials, having used a range of processes such as compression moulding, injection moulding, film stacking, and thermoset composites (including sandwich).
I have experience analysing composite laminates mechanically (tensile, flexural, impact, compression, compression after impact, etc.) and non-destructively (C-Scan, SEM, X-Ray) to identify failure and damage processes.
