Dr Matt Bellingham
Summary
I am a Senior Lecturer, an Academic Lead for the School of Film, Media, and Creative Technologies, and the Course Leader of the BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) Creative Computing degrees. I joined the University of Portsmouth in 2022 having previously worked at the University of Wolverhampton and the Open University.
I currently specialise in audio and music programming across undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision. My recent research explores the design and development of tools for creatives which allow for new ways of working while reducing or removing the need for programming.
I worked in the music and pro audio industries before returning to academia, and have managed, written, and delivered HE Music Technology and Production courses for over 20 years, including acting as a consultant for several universities across Europe.
I am a member of the Psychology of Programming Interest Group and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
