Dr Thomas Kecker
Biography
Having started lecturing at the University of Portsmouth in 2014, I am an Associate Professor in Mathematics in the School of Mathematics & Physics. Before coming to Portsmouth I obtained my PhD in Mathematics from University College London (2010 - 2014), under the supervision of Professor Rod Halburd.
Research:
My research is currently funded by the EPSRC grant EP/W012251/1: ‘Geometric Aspects of Complex Differential Equations'. This project is about classifying nonlinear differential and difference equations in the complex plane via a geometric approach, using the Okamoto's space of initial conditions. I work on this project with one Senior Research Associate, Dr Marta Dell'Atti.
If you would like to gain more insight into my research you may want to watch the Zoom recording of a talk I gave recently at the CAvid online seminar (organised by UCL).
I recently organised the international workshop on 'Algebraic and Geometric Aspects of Differential and Difference Equations' at the University of Portsmouth (together with M. Dell'Atti).
I am Director for Postgraduate Studies in the School of Mathematics & Physics.
