Our annual Graduate Show invites students, families, and employers to celebrate the creativity and achievements of students graduating from the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries. For this year’s show, we’re inviting students to come up with the design concept that will shape the visual identity of the event’s promotional materials.

Winning prize: £200.00 Love2Shop Voucher

2 x Runner-up prizes: £50.00 Love2Shop Voucher

Competition deadline: 1 February 2026

What’s required?

You’ll need to submit one original design piece or concept that could represent the Graduate Show in promotional materials. This could be in any artistic style or medium, such as a poster, illustration, photograph, animation, 3D piece / sculpture, or something else entirely. Our Graphic Design team will adapt the winning design into promotional posters, email headers, animations, and social media content, so please keep this in mind.

To help spark ideas, we’d encourage you to reflect on your time studying a creative degree at Portsmouth. Think about what’s made the experience meaningful, memorable, and enjoyable, and let that experience guide your design.

Who can enter?

Any student on a course in the faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries.

How to enter:

Email your submission to cci-enquiries@port.ac.uk by the competition deadline (1 February 2026), as a PDF, AI, EPS, or MP4 file. Please include your full name, course title, what year of study you are in, and 1-2 sentences about your design.

What happens next?

Submissions will be shortlisted by a panel of judges and winners will be notified by email. The winning entrant will also be invited to feature in promotional social media content around their winning design (optional).

Additional guidance:

Do I need to have skills in graphic design to enter? Not necessarily – if you are looking to submit a non-design piece (eg a photograph or animation), you just need to consider how this could be adapted by our design team into materials such as printed posters and email headers.

Do I need to include the university branding in my design? It is not a requirement to use the university brand colours or elements in your design. If you would like to incorporate the university logo within your design you are welcome to do so, otherwise our team will add this in later.

When does the Graduate Show take place? The private view for this year's show is taking place on 12th June 2026.
