The University of Portsmouth’s Revolution Plastics Institute (RPI) is delighted to announce that Marcus Gover will be joining as a Visiting Research Fellow.
With over 20 years of leadership experience at the intersection of business, government, and environmental sustainability, Marcus brings a wealth of expertise that will help the RPI bridge the gap between business and academia in the fight against plastic pollution.
Marcus has held key leadership roles in both commercial and philanthropic organisations, focusing on sustainability, climate change, and plastics.
As the former Plastics Director at Minderoo Foundation, he led international teams to develop evidence-based solutions addressing global plastics challenges. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive of WRAP, transforming it into a globally recognised NGO dedicated to advancing circular economy principles across over 40 countries.
I am excited to join the University of Portsmouth’s Revolution Plastics Institute. The plastics crisis is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, and collaboration between business and academia is crucial to finding sustainable solutions. I look forward to contributing my experience and working alongside leading researchers to drive real change.
