This weekend, Portsmouth Football Club previewed a new pre-game fan show conceived and created by final-year BA (Hons) Television Production students from the University of Portsmouth, in the lead-up to their home game against Accrington Stanley. The show was played in Fratton Park on the stadium's big screen to an audience of almost 18,000 fans.
The show named 'Pompey Preview' previewed the upcoming game, explored 10 years of Portsmouth FC community ownership, profiled the Portsmouth Women's team and highlighted a multitude of analyses from many guests associated with the club including club ambassador Alan Knight MBE, Portsmouth Woman's manager Jay Sadler and Pompey Supporters Trust engagement officer Eric Coleborn.
What has been noted by all, is the student's level of professionalism in working with Portsmouth FC players and staff. The show has made excellent use of the great facilities we have at the University from the White Swan TV Studio to the innovative CCIXR space, as well as working with multiple different students from a number of courses.

Students also worked collaboratively with the University's Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR), to bring in new innovative technologies such as a volumetric scan of a player and the CCIXR smart stage as part of a player analysis section that featured in the show.
Course Leader for BA (Hons) Television Production, David Kinnaird said: “This project has really been led by the student's passion as part of their final year assessment. Students proposed, developed and created the project, which has been a huge collaboration between the University and Portsmouth FC.
