I am overwhelmed to be offered this very great honour by the BAFA, especially in the year that the annual conference is being hosted by the University of Portsmouth.

I am grateful to the University, and to my previous employers in higher education - University of Essex and Writtle University College - and indeed, to my family, for providing supportive environments in which my own ideas can flourish and have an impact beyond academia. I look forward to continuing my work in the coming years.

Professor Jack is one of the very few accounting researchers to investigate the agri-food industry. She writes about the effects of accounting and performance measurement practices on the industry, and on society more widely. In recognition of this, Professor Jack was awarded the Fellowship of the Institute of Agricultural Management in 2021.

Professor Jack will be presented with her award during this year’s BAFA Conference, which is being hosted by the University of Portsmouth, at the Annual Dinner in the Guildhall in Portsmouth on 9 April 2024.
