A trailblazing political correspondent and presenter for the BBC. 

Journalist and broadcaster Alex Forsyth is the host of BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? She is the first female presenter in the show's 75-year history. 

For the past 10 years Alex has been on frontline of British politics. She has covered general elections, the EU referendum, party leadership contests and the Covid pandemic for the BBC's flagship output – from the Today programme, to News at Ten

She’s also presented Politics Live, the Westminster Hour and The World Tonight, as well as regularly appearing on the Newscast podcast.

In recent years, Alex has developed a new role for the BBC, travelling the UK as a political correspondent to reach and reflect new audiences.

She's also had stints in other specialist departments, including education and home affairs, and has been a foreign correspondent in Beirut and Brussels.

Alex began her journalism career at the Portsmouth News, before joining BBC local radio teams in Oxford and Southampton, then going on to become a network correspondent. She grew up in Portsmouth, and now lives in the West Midlands.
