Perks of being a Portsmouth graduate
Find out what you gain when you graduate
From the moment you decided to come to Portsmouth, a lifetime of benefits opened up to you. Take a look at what's available to you as a Portsmouth alumnus.
Discounted postgraduate study
We already know you, and believe in you. So we'd love to help you get where you want to be.
As a Portsmouth graduate, you could receive 20% off tuition fees for a Master's or PhD (terms and conditions apply).
You can choose from more than 200 Master's, research, doctorate, teacher training, and other postgraduate-level courses. Most courses qualify for Government loan funding via Gov.UK.
And, if you're a new graduate who left us in 2024, you can get priority when applying for a Master's with our fast track application.
Fast track your Master's application
As a 2023 or 2024 graduate, you're guaranteed a conditional offer for most MA/MSc degrees, on the achievement of a good honours degree.
You can use the quick and easy Fast Track route to apply for a Master’s course. This means there’s no new application forms to complete and we won't ask you write a personal statement or submit any qualifications.
I decided to stay at Portsmouth for my postgraduate studies because the department was so supportive and well suited to my research interests. My supervisor is a specialist in an area central to my research and, since I was an undergraduate student, has encouraged me to further my studies and research.

Careers support
Your alumni community is a resource for your entire life and includes access to people who could open doors for you or be your mentors at any stage of your career.
But if you graduated in the last 5 years, you're entitled to additional support from the Careers and Employability Service.
Starting your career is an exciting time. It's a time to learn about yourself, and to find out what you're good at and what you want to do. It's a time for trying out new things, building your skills and proving yourself. As a recent graduate, we want to help you have the best possible start.
You can continue to use the careers resources on MyPort.
We also run a Career Cafe every September where you'll meet experienced alumni who will share their insights, knowledge and guidance to help you move forward on your career journey. Make sure your details are up to date so we can invite you to the cafe.
Start up and business support
You can access support to get your business idea off the ground, or take your existing start-up to the next level. If you're ready to create the next big thing, we're here to help.
Expert advice, workshops, co-working spaces and networking opportunities are available to you if you graduated in the last five years, at no cost, with no loss of ownership.
