Doctor of the University
A champion of education who has made a huge difference for girls and disadvantaged communities.
Social entrepreneur and education advocate Becca is known for founding The Girls Network and The Literacy Hubs.
Her first charity, The Girls Network, has provided mentoring and support for girls from the least advantaged communities across the UK. It does this by pairing them with female mentors, who help them build the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential.
Her second initiative, The Literacy Hubs, helps communities across Portsmouth gain the literacy skills they need to thrive.
Becca's work in education has earned her numerous awards, including an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours; Forbes 30 under 30 Social Entrepreneurs; Stylist Magazine's 'Women With Heart'; The Shaping Portsmouth Award; and The Teach First Innovation Award.
