Community simulation areas

Our community simulation areas enable you to practise skills for community based placements in a safe, contextual and realistic environment.

There are a number of facilities within the community simulation areas, including a GP surgery, a flat and a care home.

Our Learning Management System has also been installed throughout the area, which allows you to use video recordings to enhance your learning.

Equipment and amenities

A reception and waiting area including a desk, chair, PC, a ceiling mounted 360 camera with an audio capture unit, patient chairs and a TV.
A medical treatment bay featuring a patient and treatment trolley, used for carrying out simulated minor treatments and triage, and a wall mounted camera.
Consultation rooms that include desks, chairs, a patient examination couch, a height chart, scales, manual BP cuffs, stethoscopes, pulse oximeters, tympanic thermometers and a wall camera with audio capture units.
