Your students will discover how Film & TV degrees at Portsmouth blend artistic vision with technical expertise, shaping the future of creative storytelling and screen technologies.

We recommend that students choose either Path A (Screenwriting) or Path B (Production - Camera Studio) to tailor their experience to their interests.

  • Path A: Screenwriting – Dive into the fundamentals of storytelling for film and television, learning how to craft compelling scripts, develop engaging characters, and structure narratives for the screen.

  • Path B: Production - Camera Studio – Gain practical experience in a professional studio environment, exploring camera operation, shot composition, and visual storytelling techniques used in film and television production.

It's time for your class to take a quick breather, consolidate their learning so far and get in a stretch before moving on to more exciting sessions.

You’ll get a tour of the CCIXR Centre, where you'll explore state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to the latest in creative technologies.

Experience cutting-edge tools such as motion capture, photogrammetry & volumetric as well as our virtual and augmented reality kit such as the Smartstage, all designed to push the boundaries of film, media, and digital storytelling.

During lunch, students are kindly asked to bring their own packed lunch.

However, light refreshments such as squash will be available to keep everyone refreshed before the afternoon sessions.

We recommend that students choose either Path A (Production - Camera Studio) or Path B (Post Production - Editing) to tailor their experience to their interests.

  • Path A: Production - Camera Studio – Gain hands-on experience in a studio environment, learning essential camera techniques, shot composition, and the basics of studio production.
  • Path B: Post Production - Editing – Dive into the world of film editing, exploring the tools and techniques used to shape and refine a film in post-production.

The floor is open for you and your students to ask questions. You'll have the attention of lecturers and current students to pick their brains about different Film and TV courses, the transition from college to Uni and moving away from home - or whatever else they want to know about uni.
