What you need before you apply
Check if you meet our English language criteria
Wherever you're from, you can take your pick of our Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses, so long as you can speak a good standard of English.
Each course has its own English language requirements, which can be found on individual course pages. You can also search for English language requirements by country.
If you need to improve your English – or just want to further improve your language skills with us – here's how we can help.
English language courses and support
You can join us for a pre-sessional English course before you start your degree, either on campus or through distance learning online. Our English language courses are exempt from further IELTS testing, and guarantee you progression to a degree course.
If your English is good and you want to practice before you start university, sign up for one of our short programmes to refresh your language skills. If your English needs more work, join one of our longer programmes lasting up to 20 weeks.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Once you've started your course, you can still get great support in English. These weekly classes are available to all undergraduate and postgraduate students and can help you with writing essays, improving your grammar and developing your presentation and academic research skills.
You can also choose to do individual workshops, which will help you develop specific skills in data presentation, academic writing and professional communication.
