Develop your English language, translation or interpreting skills for your teaching career
If you are a teaching professional from an international institution or organisation looking to improve your English language or translation and interpreting skills, these short courses are for you.
Designed and delivered by our Centre for Continuing Development (CCPD), these courses will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in English language or translation, while also experiencing English culture and the island city of Portsmouth.
You'll take part in classes and also spend time on excursions and day trips to local attractions, improving your professional knowledge, skills and experience, and enjoying leisure time exploring the UK's historic south coast and bustling capital city.
These courses are delivered by our Centre for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD).
The Centre offers specialist subject and English language study for those interested in career development opportunities in the UK.
CCPD's courses are designed to develop professional skills and enable career opportunities. All courses are fully supported by our dedicated CCPD team and led by experts in their fields.
How will I spend my time?
During your time with us, you'll benefit from high-quality teaching from academic staff and dedicated support from our CCPD team.
Alongside time spent in the classroom with expert academics and fellow teachers from around the world, you'll experience British culture during day trips to locations such as London and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, enjoying traditional British cuisine and heritage. You'll also have free time to explore all Portsmouth has to offer, including its beaches, green spaces and cultural scene.
We'll arrange an arrival transfer from a London airport to your accommodation in Portsmouth and we'll return you at the end of your stay.
Where will I stay?
Accommodation in one of our university halls of residence is included in the price of your short course.
You'll have a single room with bed, desk, wardrobe and en-suite or shared facilities, depending on availability. We may also be able to offer catered or self-catered accommodation too, again depending on availability.
University staff will be on hand in each halls of residence who will be able to help you with any questions or issues that you may have during your stay.
