Funding your teacher training
Find out how much your tuition fees will cost, and the different ways you can fund your study with us
How much are tuition fees?
The amount your teaching training will cost varies, depending on what course you're studying, the subject you're focusing on, and where you're applying from. All fees are subject to annual increases, please refer to your relevant course page for next year's fees.
The good news is that if you're on a qualifying teacher training course in England, there are plenty of bursaries, loans and funding options open to you when it comes to paying for your studies.
Tuition fee and maintenance loans
If you’re studying any of our PGCE courses – and you’re not eligible to receive a bursary or scholarship – you're eligible for an undergraduate student loan to help cover your fees and living costs.
You won’t have to pay the cost of your tuition in advance (although you can, if you'd like to) and you'll only repay the loan when you're in employment and earning more than £25,000 a year.
You may also be eligible for a maintenance loan towards your living costs – visit the Student Finance England website for more guidance.
Your personal circumstances can also affect your eligibility for further funding, and the UK government's student finance calculator can help you work out if you can claim for Parents' Learning Allowances, Childcare Grants, Child Tax Credits and many other additional sources of funding.
